  Wrong Concepts in my Life

I considered myself a revolutionary and a political leader in my country. When I was in university I led the students in many demonstrations and riots against the government. I was sure that one day I would be my country’s president.

On the other hand, I was devoted to my religion. I believed that the more I read from holy books, the more I would gain Allah’s praise. I was worshiping Allah because I feared His punishment. My concept of forgiveness for sin was to do good works. When I sinned, I felt guilty and tried to do as many good things as possible to cleanse my sins.

One day changed all my concepts. I met a man who asked me about my goal in life. I told him I would be my country's leader. He asked, “If you died today, where would you go?” I didn’t have an answer.

He started to explain to me God’s plan for forgiving my sins and the true way of worshiping God. He opened the Bible and read, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). We met again and I asked him many questions.

After a year my concepts started to change. I invited Jesus Christ to clean me from all my sins. Now I know that I am worshiping God in my heart. I love God and He loves me. Reading His words in the Bible fills me with joy and peace. My goal now is to serve Him, not to be president of my country. Many people from my group tried to kill me, but God saved me. I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for changing my life’s concepts.
